Markley works in three main fields: eighteenth-century studies, cultural
studies, and the history of Mars--a field in which he has just finished
a major book project.
He
publised books on Science Fiction, Virtual Realities, and Seventeenth
and Eighteenth-Century Literature including Dying Planet:
Mars and the Anxieties of Ecology from the Canals to Terraformation
